A Great Story
Get settled in yer saddle - this here is the long version of the WYO Buckin' Beans story...
Amy Elliott owns Bison’s Bounty - a little coffee shop/boutique in Pinedale, Wyoming. From its opening day, Bison’s Bounty was proud to serve WYO Buckin’ Beans coffee. Partly because we loved Angie Caster, the roaster. And partly because it was just dang good coffee!
Angie started WYO Buckin’ Beans in 2016, in Sheridan. Hailing from a long line of Wyoming ranchers, she found a way to combine her love of cowgirl life with her love of coffee. The custom roasting system she and her husband developed reflects the way the cowboys used to do it on the trail - in cast iron, over steady heat. With typical Wyoming grit, she built up a thriving business over nine years. However, in 2025, she realized that her husband and kids (and the cows!) needed her more, and she made the brave decision to step away from the business.
For a host of reasons (which would make this long story even longer), Amy has always cared deeply for women in abusive situations. When Angie called her to share the news about closing the business, she asked how the shop was doing. Amy shared her desire to somehow use her business to find a way help these women she cared about so much - women dealing with domestic violence. In a moment that could only be explained by the mysterious ways of the Lord, Angie said, “Amy, I think God is telling me to give you the business.”
After nearly fainting, Amy called her brother, Josh, a military veteran and long-time law enforcement officer. Also a lover of coffee, Josh was stirred by the vision and the opportunity to craft incredible coffee and to somehow be a part of redemption stories. He immediately asked how he could be involved. So from halfway across the country, he plays a valuable role in the life of this business that reflects both of our hearts in so many ways.
Together, our vision is to build a strong roasting business - making ridiculously good coffee and showing up for vulnerable people. Here for good. So a portion of WBB proceeds will always be invested in women and children who need someone in their corner. This means you, our valued customers, also get to play a role in redemption stories with every bag of coffee you purchase. So thank you for partnering with us. We pray you feel the joy that comes with making a difference in the lives of others. We are grateful for you!
